The dye sublimation design method is a computer printing technique that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials such as fabric or glass. The one thing to remember when using the dye sublimation design method is with fabrics, it has to be done on polyester otherwise the dye won't be absorbed into the material.
Once you've designed your image, the design gets transferred to sheets of 'transfer paper'. After the design is printed, its placed on a heat press along with the product you're designing. The heat press uses a combination of time, temperature, and pressure. The ink from the paper changes to a gas, which allows the ink to be absorbed into the material for a permanent effect.
